Our Story
Dr Rachel Fresco, founder of Biocidin Botanicals literally grew up in the health industry. As the daughter of a pharmacist, she watched her parents assist people to find answers to their everyday health issues.
After embarking and graduating with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Rachel opened up her own private practice. During this time, she also worked as a clinical consultant for an herbal company.
Seeing first-hand the struggles of patients and healthcare professionals alike, she set about finding solutions for challenging health conditions, which often seemed to be related to microbial imbalances such as dysbiosis, opportunistic and stealth infections.
Armed with her scientific knowledge and clinical experience in herbal medicine, Rachel formulated the now signature product Biocidin – a synergistic blend of herbs and essential oils with potent broad-spectrum activity.
Our Story Continues ...
The word microbiome was considered a novel term by scientists in the late 1980’s when Biocidin was formulated. Little did Rachel know that during this time, she had created one of the most powerful, natural microbiome balancing formulations ever assessed by Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratories (now named Genova Diagnostics).
Following the formulation of Biocidin, Rachel went on to develop additional natural products to assisting in binding toxins, restoring microbiome balance as well as specialized liposomal delivery systems to extend Biocidin’s clinical utility.
She continues to work with universities and clinicians to validate the efficacy of the Biocidin Botanicals range and keep abreast of the latest research on microbial challenges including biofilms.
The flagship formulation Biocidin is still centered on the 18 herbs and essential oils, offering a simplistic yet powerful solution to address today’s complex needs. For over 30 years, her formulations have been used worldwide by leading integrative and natural health practitioners.
